PrayAbout is a place where you can post a prayer request and have other people pray with you. For more information about PrayAbout, click here.

How do I join? Is it free?

Yes, being a member is completely free. Click here to join.

How do I get more people to see my request and pray with me?

Here are some strategies for getting more people to see your requests:

• Light candles for your request. Learn more here.
• Subscribe to other members (giving support to others encourages them to support you). Just click the 'subscribe' link on a member's profile page.
• Respond to other requests. People will see your picture, click on it, and read your requests.
• Upload a picture. People click on member profiles that have pictures. Human nature, I guess.
• Write your request in a way that resonates with other people. Tell a story and give details.

How long does it take before my request or response is published?

Your requests and responses must be viewed and approved by at least two members before they are published on the site. It could be immediately, it could be a few hours, depending on how many members are viewing and approving new items. You can help by clicking the links on the left side of the home page that say "Help approve new requests" and "Help approve new responses".

What are the candles about?

Lighting candles helps "illuminate" prayer requests that are especially needful of the community's attention. Click here for more information about lighting candles on PrayAbout.

How do I light candles?

Click on the "light candles" link to the left of each item. For more information about candles, please click here.

How do I get more candles?

Three ways:

1. You get more candles when people light candles for your requests.
2. By inviting your friends to PrayAbout. Click here.
3. Purchase candles with a credit card or from your checking account via PayPal (click here).

How is the money from buying candles used?

The sale of candles helps pay the expenses to keep PrayAbout online, and to raise awareness for the site.

How do I change my request?

Click on the title of the request from your profile page and you'll see a link to edit the request.

My prayer was answered! How do I let people know?

Each prayer request has a special "update" section where you can let people know how things are going. On your profile page (make sure you're logged in) you will see small update box on each of your prayer requests.
